We're Making Adjustments for Social Distancing

We prioritize your health in every way. Your safety and the safety of our staff are of the utmost importance.

In light of recent events, we are conducting remote sessions until further notice. We will discuss the costs and benefits of this arrangement on an individual basis.

You must reside in the state of California in order to receive therapeutic services from Find Your Center. Please inquire within if your primary address is local, but you are presently in another state or country.

Platforms

In addition to FaceTime, the preferred and most stable, seemingly secure non-membership option at present, VSee is a HIPAA compliant teleconference platform that many of us have used before. You can download the software free of charge to your phone or tablet. Please note that the preferred version is simply titled VSee, not VSee Clinical. The application icon is a white V within a green square. Your device must have both an operating microphone and camera. Your internet or cellular reception should have a strong, uninterrupted signal. For all teletherapy, do your best to find a quiet, private space to ensure confidentiality during our call. Notify us of the email you use to access the platform as well as your address and an emergency contact prior to session so that we can proceed smoothly and start on time.

Office Locations

For future reference, we have three physical offices. One is located in Brentwood on S. Barrington. We also have a second and third offices located in Echo Park and Santa Barbara. Specific addresses will be disclosed upon clinic admission.

Authorizations

It is important that you review the entirety of the consent and the telehealth addendum. Please make sure to include an emergency contact that is in close physical proximity to you, in addition to the information for your local emergency clinic or hospital. If you are suicidal and reside far from our three office locations, you must find a therapist within reach who has more comprehensive knowledge of your local resources.

The authorization is typically something clients use to enable us to speak with therapists, current or previous psychiatrists, and any paying parties, if you are comfortable. Do not forget to also include a local emergency contact such as a parent or partner. Complete as many as may be useful.

As a reminder, we do not keep secrets between partners, so moving forward our communications are most effective when the partner is copied.

We really look forward to meeting you soon. We are eager to simply connect and get to know you.

May you experience peace and health during this crisis.

*VSee is a HIPAA compliant teleconference platform that many of us have used before. You can download the software free of charge to your phone or tablet. Please note that the preferred version is simply titled VSee, not VSee Clinical. The application icon is a white V within a green square. As our circumstances evolve and more members are using this platform, you may or may not be able to open a new account. Inform us if the latter is the case.

*If you find there are new obstacles to accessing VSee, HIPAA rules have been temporarily altered to enable us to use FaceTime and Google Hangouts, as well as other less stringent teleconference platforms.

*Your device must have both an operating microphone and camera. Your internet or cellular reception should have a strong, uninterrupted signal. Close all non-essential programs during use. Do your best to find a quiet, private space to ensure confidentiality during our call. Notify us of the email you use to sign up for the platform prior to session so that we can proceed smoothly and start on time. We will initiate the call and, should it happen, any reconnection following a technical disruption. Please have your phone nearby as well.

*Now that we are in close quarters and placing greater demands on our internet, you may consider evaluating whether your current plan serves your present needs.

*It is helpful to be close to your router, but not always doable. A WiFi extender is a good option.

*With many at home during confidential conversations and activities, both therapy-related and otherwise, a simple sound screen may protect your privacy. There are both battery and adapter models.

*The following are remote EMDR options, including an app you can download to your phone or tablet and another you can use on your laptop or desktop computer that allows me greater control over the operations. Remote EMDR now utilizes Doxy to integrate video chat directly into the bilateral platform.
